How can I make an adult Umpa Lumpa costume?

I want to make the original Umpa Lumpa costume, but I am having difficulty on the sides of the pants (How they stick out). I am thinking maybe I should use foam & sew it in. If you have any idea, all would be welcomed. Thank you!! http://bit.ly/r2L0Od
